AIBE XV (15) Eligibility Criteria 2020 – The Bar Council of India is entrusted with the responsibility to frame the AIBE XV (15) 2020 eligibility criteria. Among the minimum AIBE XV (15) eligibility criteria 2020 one needs to meet inorder to sit in the national-level certification exam include a 3-year or 5-year LLB degree and Bar Council of India (or State Council) registration. Only such candidates who meet the basic eligibility criteria would be considered for certification while rest will be disqualified. Note that the result of AIBE 2020 would be declared simply as pass or fail; those who pass (or qualify) in the exam will be awarded the Certificate of Practice (COP). The COP certification will allow the candidate the right to pursue the practice of law in any court in the country. AIBE Eligibility Criteria 2020 – Key Points 

  1. Any applicant who intends to take the AIBE 2020 exam should carefully go through the eligibility criteria prescribed for the exam.  
  2. It is because any candidate who doesn’t meet the AIBE 2020 eligibility criteria, then the candidate will not be awarded the ‘Certificate of Practice’ even if they qualify in the exam.
  3. Another thing is simply meeting the AIBE XV eligibility criteria is no guarantee of qualification, as candidates will be selected for the certification based on AIBE exam scores only.
  4. AIBE 2021 qualifying cutoff: The cutoff for qualifying in the exam will be decided by BCI after examining exam scores of all candidates.
  5. Those candidates scoring equal to or higher than the cutoff score will be deemed to have qualified in the exam and will be awarded the ‘Certificate of Practice’, which will allow them to practice in any court of law in India.
  6. Those who fail to meet the cutoff will be deemed to have failed. Such candidates can appear in the AIBE exam in next session. 
  7. AIBE XV (15) exam date: The exam will be conducted on November 8; admit cards will become available from October 31. 

AIBE (15) 2020 Eligibility

Particular AIBE 2020 eligibility criteria
Academic qualification The candidate needs to have passed a 3-year or 5-year LLB program from an institution recognized by the BCI.

The candidate needs to have completed the law degree on or after July 1, 2020. 
Marks in qualifying exam No minimum marks have been prescribed.So any candidate who has simply passed an LLB degree can apply.  
Bar Council Registration The candidate needs to get enrolled with a State Bar Council.
Number of attempts  There is no cap in the number of attempts. 

So one may appear in the exam as many times they need to get the certification. 
Age limit There is no age limit for appearing in the AIBE XV (15) exam

AIBE XV (15) Application Form 2020

The exam conducting authority has extended the last date to fill the application form of AIBE XV 2020 till October 24; registrations are open till October 17. As part of the AIBE XV (15) 2020 application form filling process, the candidate will have to first get registered and create an applicant account, then fill various fields in the application form like personal and communication details, and upload scanned copies of essential documents. The candidate will also be required to select three exam centres, in the order of preference. Such candidates who successfully complete the application process will be issued admit cards for the open-book exam.
