CAT Registration 2020 – The IIMs will start the online registration process of CAT 2020 tentatively in the 1st week of August. Eligible candidates need to complete the CAT 2020 registration process online before the last date. As part of the registration process, the candidate needs to create an applicant account, fill CAT 2020 application form, upload relevant documents, and also pay the exam fee. Such candidates who successfully fill the CAT application form 2020 will be issued admit cards for the computer-based CAT 2020 exam, which will be conducted sometime in July. It must be noted that when filling the application form of CAT 2020, one must use genuine information only, as there will be a verification process where every detail will be cross-checked. Step 1 – Online Registration
To register for CAT 2020, follow these steps:
- Go to the CAT 2020 registration portal
- Click on the “New Registration” tab
- A registration form will open
- Fill in name, DOB, valid email ID and phone number, and nationality
- On successfully entering these details, OTP will be generated and sent to registered email ID
- Enter the OTP in the appropriate box to complete the verification process.
- On successful verification, a unique user ID and password will be generated for the newly created applicant account.
Step 2 – Filling of CAT application form 2020
Log-in to the applicant account and access the CAT 2020 application form. The form will have various sections, including personal details, contact details, and academic information sections. All of these sections have to be duly filled. The information entered in the CAT application form 2020 has to be genuine and correct, as otherwise stand to be disqualified if caught faking information at the document verification stage.
Step 3 – Uploading of Photograph
In this step, the candidate has to upload photograph and signature in the prescribed format as shown in the table below.

Step 4 – Selection of Programmes
In this field, the candidate has to pick any number of programmes offered by the 20 IIMs. The candidate will also be required to pick two preferred interview cities for each of the programmes opted.
For the newly established IIMs listed below, the candidate however has to select the same interview city as they have a Common Admission Process.

Step 5 – Selection of CAT Test Cities
The candidate in this step has to pick a city from where they intend to appear in the CAT 2020 exam. It may be noted that a maximum of FOUR exam cities can be selected; note choices should be entered in the order of preference. Exam officials will typically allot CAT exam centres 2020 in the city which is the first choice of the candidate.
However, if due to some reasons, the first choice city is not available, the candidate will be allotted an exam centre is the second preferred city. In the extraordinary case where all three top option cities are not available, the candidate will be allotted a CAT 2020 exam centre in the city, which is the fourth and last choice of the candidate.
Details related to the exam centre allotted to the candidate will be mentioned on the CAT 2020 admit card, along with other details like name and roll number of the candidate, and date and time of the exam.

Step 6 – Payment of Counselling Fee
In the last step of the CAT 2020 application filling process, the candidate has to pay the application fee through online mode using net banking, credit or debit card. The category-wise application fee of CAT 2020 is given in the table below.

CAT Application Correction 2020
After the CAT 2020 application form closes, exam officials will give applications a window to make corrections to some fields in the form. For example, the candidate will be able to edit the percentage of marks, programme opted for admission and interview venues, uploaded photo, and also work experience.
