MHT CET Counselling 2020 – Maharashtra CET will conduct the counselling of MHT CET 2020 after the declaration of result through a Centralised Admission Process (CAP). The CAP would be conducted online mode and have around three rounds, but if there are vacant seats left after these three rounds, a SPOT round would also be conducted. The MHT CET counselling 2020 will be conducted for admitting candidates to BE/BTech and pharmacy programmes in engineering colleges in the state. The allotment of seats during the counselling will be based on the MHT CET 2020 marks and choices entered by candidates during the choice filling process. To participate in the MHT CET counselling process, candidates need to get registered, pay relevant fees, and undergo document verification.
Such candidates who are applying for admission based on JEE Main 2020 scores are also required to register for counselling and then complete subsequent steps of the counselling process.

MHT CET Counselling Procedure 2020
Candidates can check the step-by-step MHT CET 2020 counselling process below.
Step 1 – Registration
To register for the counselling process, the candidate must go to the official website and get registered. As part of MHT CET registration 2020, one has to enter personal, academic, contact and category details. When selecting a category, the candidate will have the following options:
- Maharashtra State Candidature (Type A/ B/ C/ D/ E)
- OMS
- NRI
- PIO/ OCI
- CIWGC
- GoI
- Foreign Students
- J&K Migrant
The candidate will also have to select a security question and a password for creating a new applicant account to participate in the CAP.
Step 2 – Uploading of documents
The candidate has to next upload scanned copies of essential documents like photograph and signature in the prescribed specification; refer the table below.

Step 3 – Payment of Counselling Fee
The candidate has to pay the MHT CET counselling processing fee, which will be category specific. The payment can be made in online mode only.

Step 4 – Reporting at Facilitation Centres (FC)
Upon successful payment of the counselling fee, the candidate needs to report at any designated FC and get their documents verified. For the verification process, the candidate needs to bring originals of all essential documents and also photocopies.
Only such candidates who successfully complete the verification will be eligible to participate in subsequent steps of the CAP.

Step 5 – Choice Filling
In this step, the candidate has to select their choices of colleges and courses; note choices should be entered in the order of priority. It is also recommended that the candidate enters as many choices they can, as it will improve their chances of getting admission.
Step 6 – MHT CET Seat Allotment 2020
Based on the choices entered by the candidate, the seat allotment of MHT CET 2020 will be made. The result of seat allotment would be declared online through candidate accounts; so candidates would have to log-in to their accounts to check allotment status. Such candidates who have been allotted sets will be issued seat allotment letters, which the candidate needs to download and get a printout of. The letter will contain information relating to the name of the course and college allotted, address of the college, and also date of joining.
The candidate needs to report at the allotted college with the allotment letter to complete admission formalities.
Spot Round of Counselling
In case there are vacant seats left after the three CAP rounds, a Spot round of counselling will also be conducted to fill all such seats. After the Spot round, no candidate will be entertained, so all such candidates who haven’t been allotted a seat need to participate in the spot round.
