MHT CET Eligibility Criteria 2020 – Significance
- The eligibility criteria are different for different programs – B.Tech, B.Pharmacy and Pharm.D. So, the MHT CET 2020 candidate needs to consult the eligibility criteria specific to the program they are applying for admission to.
- A candidate will be considered for admission to a programme only if they meet all the criteria prescribed for the programme.
- Reservation in seats are available for backward class and PwD candidates belonging to the state of Maharashtra only; other state candidates can’t avail these benefits
- Similarly, exemption in minimum marks are only meant for backward class and PwD candidates of Maharashtra.

Candidates seeking admission to the B.Tech programme must meet the following MHT CET 2020 eligibility criteria, which pertain to qualifying exam passed, minimum marks, and nationality.
MHT CET Eligibility Criteria 2020 – General
Age limit – There is no age limit for admission and appearing in MHT CET 2020
Nationality – Only Indian nationals may apply.
MHT CET Eligibility Criteria 2020 for Mining Engineering course -Female candidates are not eligible for admission to the Mining Engineering course.
Qualifying exam and minimum marks –

MHT CET Eligibility Criteria 2020 – Candidature Types
An applicant seeking admission to B.E / B.Tech and pharmacy programmes in the state of Maharashtra may fall in any of the following candidature types.

Type | Eligibility Criteria |
Type A | (i) The candidates must have passed SSC and also HSC or Diploma in Engineering or Bachelor of Science Examination from a recognized institution in the State of Maharashtra (ii) The candidate must be a domicile of Maharashtra and/ or born in the state |
Type B | Candidates who don’t fall in Type A, but who or whose Father or Mother is domiciled in Maharashtra and possess state domicile. |
Type C | Candidates who don’t not fall in Type A or B, but whose Father or Mother is an employee of the Government of Indian(GOI) or GOI Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submission of application form for CAP. |
Type D | Any candidate who does not fall in Type A, B, or C but whose Father or Mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking. |
Type E | A candidate who has passed SSC and/or HSC Examination from a recognised institution located in a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area and whose Mother tongue is Marathi. |

- Indian nationals can apply under this category
Minority Candidature
- Candidates from linguistic or religious minority communities from the State of Maharashtra and as notified by the Government can apply under this Category.

MHT CET application form 2020
The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra has released the application form of MHT CET 2020 in online mode on January 7. To fill the MHT CET application form 2020, the candidate needs to first get registered using their name, email id and mobile number. The candidate will also have to select and confirm a password for the candidate account. Upon registration, the candidate to proceed to complete the remaining part of the form, including filling of personal, academic, and contact details, uploading of documents, and payment of MHT CET 2020 applicaiton fee.
