NEET PG Counselling 2021 – The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct the counselling of NEET PG 2021 for admission to AIQ seats on behalf of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). To participate in the counselling process the candidate needs to have mandatorily qualified in the NEET PG 2021 entrance exam. NEET PG 2021 counselling will have two online rounds, but for Deemed, Central Universities & ESIC an additional mop-up round will also be conducted to fill up any vacant seats left. The counselling for 50% state quota seats will be conducted by respective state counselling authorities. As part of the counselling process, the NEET PG 2021 candidate needs to get registered and exercise choice filling and locking. The result of NEET PG 2021 will be declared by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) tentatively in the last week of January. And based on marks obtained by candidates in the exam rank, NEET PG merit list will be prepared which will be used for the seat allotment purpose.

NEET PG 2021 Counselling Process
The counselling of NEET PG 2021 will be a multi-step process, comprising online registration, payment of counselling, choice filling and locking, and allotment of seats. Go through each of the steps to gain a clear understanding of the NEET PG counselling process 2021.
Step 1: Online Registration
Candidates who qualify in the NEET PG 2021 can register for participation in the NEET PG counselling 2021 process, which will be conducted in online mode. Note that
How to register for NEET PG 2021
- Go to MCC counselling website – Click here
- Select the PG Medical Counselling tab
- Click on New Registration tab on the extreme left hand top corner of the page
- A registration form will open
- Select your stream (Medical or Dental)
- Next enter details like roll number, application number, name, parents name, mobile number, and email id.
- On successful registration, an applicant account will be created that will be used to participate in the online NEET PG counselling process.
When can one register for NEET PG counselling 2021?
The registration facility will be open at the beginning of the first, second and mop-up round only.
- Registration will not be allowed in the middle of a counselling session
- The dates of NEET PG registration 2021 will be notified online, and will be updated on this page.
- Note: The mop-up round will be conducted only for Deemed/ Central Universities & ESIC
Step 2: Payment of Registration (counselling) fee
In this step, the candidate will have to pay the registration as per their category (refer to the table below for category-wise fee details. The NEET PG 2021 counselling fee can be paid online using net banking, credit and debit cards. Also, please note that each participating institute-type, there are two types of fees – refundable and non-refundable.

Step 3: Choice filling
- In this step the candidates have to participate in choice filling and locking, wherein they will have to enter their preferred colleges and courses in the order of priority.
- The candidate will have the option to edit options: a) options can be added, and b) deleted
- After the choices have been locked, the candidate should take a printout of the entered choices for future reference
- Note that if the candidate doesn’t lock the choices, then last filled choices will automatically get locked.
Fresh choices for each NEET PG counselling round 2021:
- The candidate will have to submit fresh choices (of Subject and College) for Round 2 and for the mop-up round of Deemed/ Central Universities.
Step 4: Seat Allotment
The MCC will take into account the NEET PG 2021 merit rank of the candidate and choices filled by them to make the NEET PG 2021 seat allotment list. Such candidates who are ranked higher in the merit list will be given preference during seat allotment.
Other factors the MCC will consider for making NEET PG seat allotment include:
- Seats available at that moment
- The category of the candidate
- Reservation criteria
The result of NEET PG seat allotment 2020 will be released in online mode on the MCC website, separately for each round of counselling, including the mop-up round.
Step 5: Reporting to the allotted institute
The reporting time will be mentioned on the NEET PG 2021 seat allotment letter. The candidate will have to report at the institute on the designated day to complete the admission process. They must bring with them originals of all relevant documents, alongs with photocopies and photographs.

NEET PG Cutoff 2021
There are two types of NEET PG cutoffs: – a) qualifying cutoff, and b) admission cutoff. The qualifying cutoff is the minimum percentile (or marks) one needs to score in the NEET PG exam to qualify in the exam and thus become eligible for participation in the counselling and seat allotment process.
Those who qualify in the exam can next participate in the counselling, where seats will be allotted based on the candidates NEET PG merit rank. The last rank for which admission is offered is the admission cutoff.
