NIRF Ranking 2020 for College – Key takeaways
- Miranda House top college: It ranked number 1 for the fourth successive year. In fact, it has been topping the NIRF Rankings since College as a category was added in 2017.
- States with maximum representation: Tamil Nadu has 32 colleges in the top 100, followed by Delhi with 29, and Kerala with 20 colleges. These three states had a total of 81 colleges out of the top 100 colleges listed in NIRF 2020 rankings.
- Only 9 states and union territories represented: The top 100 colleges represent only 9 states and union territories. This means 27 states and union territories didn’t have a single college inside the top 100!
- The NE draws a blank: Not a single college from the North East found a place in the top 100, thus painting a very sad picture.
- Diversity goes on holiday: As far as quality college education is concerned, it is the same old story and there is clearly a division between regions, with a few pockets having access to the best colleges in the land while many others don’t have any college of repute.
