VITEEE Cutoff 2020 – Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) will determine the VITEEE 2020 Cutoff for admission to the various B.Tech courses offered at its four campuses, namely – VIT Vellore, VIT Chennai, VIT-AP and VIT- Bhopal. The VITEEE Cutoff 2020 for a B.Tech program is the closing rank for admission to that program; meaning candidates scoring below that score (or rank) will not get admission. To determine the cut off of VITEEE 2020, admission officials will consider factors like the seat intake for the B.Tech program, total number of applications, performance of applicants in VITEEE 2020 entrance exam, and also the ranking of the VIT campus. Considering these factors are variables, the VITEEE cutoff also varies from campus to campus, and from one B.Tech course to another.
At the time of VITEEE counselling, VIT releases a rank-wise counselling schedule for shortlisted candidates. The shortlisting is done based on the percentile rank of the candidate in the entrance exam.
VITEEE Cutoff 2020 – Significance
- After conclusion of the VITEEE 2020 exam, admission officials will first determine the raw marks obtained by candidates in the entrance exam
- These raw marks will then be adjusted on test forms using an equating process. This is done so as to adjust scores of candidates who have taken different forms of a test.
- This will ensure meaningful and fair comparison for merit list and ranking of candidates
- The equating process is called Equipercentile Equating.
- Using this procedure the percentile ranks for candidates will be determined. Note that scores on different forms with the same percentile rank are considered to be equivalent.
- The VITEEE percentile rank will be used to prepare the VITEEE merit list for counselling and seat allotment.
- The VITEEE cutoff would be decided based on parameters like number of applicants, seat intake, number of applicants taking the entrance exam, etc.

How will VITEEE Cutoff 2020 be determined?
Admission officials will consider the following points when determining VITEEE cut off.
- The total number applications for admission to a B.Tech program
- The performance of these applicants in VITEEE 2020; if more number of higher ranked candidates apply for admission, the cutoff would go up.
- The seat intake for the B.Tech program; if seat capacity increases cut off comes down, and vice versa
- The ranking of the VIT Campus (e.g NIRF Ranking); higher ranked institutes will have higher number of applications, and so higher cutoffs.
- The difficulty level of VITEEE 2020
